Welcome to The Alma Sanctuary: A Journey of Renewal, Roots, and Radiance
When I close my eyes and think about what home means, I see sunlight filtering through tall Carolina trees, hear the soft rhythm of hooves in the barn, and feel the warmth of a kitchen filled with jars of hand-canned vegetables from the garden. For me, The Alma Sanctuary was born not only from a dream—but from a life lived in chapters of transformation.
My story began in a very different setting: a high-rise courthouse building, working as a contract paralegal at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, in Boston, Massachusetts. Later, I transitioned into freelancing for multiple law firms. I spent years in the structured, demanding world of law—fast-paced, stressful, and rewarding in its own way. But in the quiet moments between deadlines, I felt a tug, a whisper that there was more to life waiting for me. That whisper led me to yoga.
Yoga was the key that opened the door to my spiritual and wellness journey. It taught me how to breathe deeply, to ground myself, and to honor the body and mind as sacred spaces. That one practice began a ripple effect—changing the way I saw my work, my family, and the kind of life I wanted to create. It saved my soul.
From Courtrooms to Pastures
Motherhood has always been my greatest calling—I am blessed with four incredible children who have grown alongside me in this journey. Together, we made a leap of faith: we bought a large, old farm in South Carolina and began homesteading. It was far from glamorous at first—dust, peeling paint, and endless to-do lists—but with every renovation on our 100-year-old farmhouse, we discovered the joy of bringing something tired and overlooked back to life.
Our farm became more than just a property. It became a living classroom for our family. We learned to grow our food, preserve the harvest through canning, and care for a menagerie of animals—four dogs, eight well-loved barn cats, chickens, ducks, and goats. Kidding season (when our goats give birth) quickly became my favorite time of year. Watching new life come into the world has taught us all about joy, resilience, and even the heartbreak of loss. Our children have witnessed it all—the beauty and the reality of life’s cycles—and those lessons have been priceless.
Planting Roots, Expanding Community
Somewhere in the balance of motherhood, homesteading, work, and personal growth, the vision for The Alma Sanctuary emerged. This sanctuary is more than a wellness brand—it’s a home for those seeking grounding, luxury, and transformation all in one. It is a place where nature meets high-end comfort, where soulful living is celebrated, and where every guest or student is welcomed like family.
What began with a yoga mat in my living room has grown into journals, digital workshops, and now a vision for retreats, classes, and holistic wellness experiences. I am continuing my education in yoga, plant medicine, and nutrition, expanding not only my knowledge but also the circle of people I can serve. The Alma Sanctuary is evolving—just as I am.
Why Alma?
“Alma” means soul, and that is the essence of this space: a sanctuary for the soul. My hope is that when you step into this community—whether through a journal page, a yoga class, or one day, a retreat on our farm—you feel the luxury of being deeply cared for and the empowerment that comes from reconnecting with your truest self.
If I Can, You Can Too
I often hear, “I wish I could do what you’re doing.” The truth is—I was once sitting at a desk, staring at files, wondering if this was all life had to offer. I had no roadmap to this life, just a willingness to listen to my inner calling and take one step at a time. And if I can build a life rooted in both simplicity and beauty, then so can you.
The Alma Sanctuary is here to remind you that transformation doesn’t happen overnight—it happens choice by choice, breath by breath. Whether you’re just starting to explore wellness or ready to dive into retreats and holistic living, there’s a place here for you.
This is only the beginning. The Alma Sanctuary will continue to grow—with yoga classes, herbal workshops, retreats, and so much more. But at its heart, it will always be a place of connection, community, and soul.
Welcome. You belong here. We're so glad you came.
