Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Liz McLaughlin, the heart behind The Alma Sanctuary. 

The Alma Sanctuary did not begin as a business. It began as a sadhana—a lived practice born from a deep, personal necessity to return home to myself.

For years, I moved through a world that demanded constant output, eventually finding myself overstimulated and out of sync with my own rhythm. I realized that true restoration wasn't found in an 'escape,' but in the intentional creation of sacred space and the regulation of the nervous system.

Alma is the vessel for that return.

My approach to wellness is a bridge between the scientific and the sacred. With a foundation in Holistic Nutrition and Wellness Coaching from Harvard Medical School, I understand the physiological requirements for vitality. Yet, I believe that true healing requires we go deeper than the data.

As a practitioner trained in Trauma-Informed Yoga and Meditation for Anxiety, I have dedicated my study to how the body stores stress and how movement can set it free. By integrating Shamanic Sound Healing and Breathwork, I facilitate experiences that move beyond the mind, allowing for a profound, somatic resetting of your inner world.

I created The Alma Sanctuary for the ones who feels the pull toward something deeper—the one who is ready to trade noise for stillness and 'doing' for 'being.'
